索思蓋特表示 ：“比賽後的隔离过天聊天按說不會有什麽關係 ，但我並不知道所有細節 。细节這就是阳性為什麽我們現在決定讓他們倆隔離。”
“我們必須與英國衛生組織討論後才有答案 ，一旦我們了解到更多的情況 ，將盡快向大家通報 。”
“在這件事情上我們並沒有矯枉過正 ，我們必須得遵守防疫的指導方針 ，並且要確保一旦這兩名球員有任何風險 ，不會令我們的其他球員處於風險之中 。”
“關於接觸的細節，他們正在進行著討論。”
“我最大的希望是這兩個男孩兒不會因此而錯過10天的歐洲杯征程 ，這對我們來說是一個巨大的打擊 ，對他們本人也是的 ，所以我們最終還是得看看結果如何。”
索思蓋特堅持表示 ，他並沒有對他的球員有什麽怨氣 ，但是有一個頗為沮喪的事情是 ，早在3月份的時候 ，英格蘭主帥實際上就已經提過建議 ，建議全隊接種疫苗，但是這份建議最終並沒有被聽取和采納 ，否則他們本可以避免今天出現這樣的事。
索思蓋特談到 ：“我們需要說回到我三月份的建議 ，當時我相當堅定的呼籲了這一點 ，但當然最終我隻能對一切表示理解 。”
“老實說，我們整個賽季都處於危險的邊緣之中 ，我隻能說至今我們還沒有一個陽性 。在這一點上 ，我們是歐洲杯上的少數者 ，但我們沒必要為這件事情歌功頌德或是怎樣 ，我們都清楚 ，這裏麵存在很大的運氣成分而已 。”
“但是每一輪的核酸檢測 ，你都在等待一個未知的結果 ，你迫切的需要知道你是否要因此而對你的球隊做出調整 ，這樣的事情也是第一次發生在我們身上 。”
