列維認為凱恩的這番話很無禮不尊重熱刺俱樂部 ，並且對天空體育安排加裏-內維爾采訪凱恩並公開這次采訪內容很不滿 。事實上列維和凱恩在上個月就討論過球員的未來 ，當時這位英格蘭國家隊隊長堅定地表達了自己在今夏離隊的想法 ，但熱刺俱樂部本希望這種對話可以在私下進行 ，而不是通過媒體曝光公開 。
目前熱刺依然不願出售凱恩 ，尤其是如果曼城 、曼聯 、切爾西等英超球隊求購的話 ，熱刺為凱恩的標價將高達1.5億英鎊 。如果凱恩一定要離開 ，熱刺更希望他加盟國外豪門俱樂部 。但凱恩在接受加裏-內維爾采訪時卻明確表態，自己對出國踢球不感興趣，“也許總有一天我可能出國 ，但在不久的將來我對此並不感興趣 。”
凱恩甚至還暗示任何前鋒都夢想著和德布勞內一起比賽 ：“當我看到德布勞內的比賽時 ，他是一個非常特別的球員，我看到他在曼城的比賽中傳出的一些球簡直就是前鋒夢想得到的 。他在有球和無球時的表現都很出色 ，壓迫對手方麵也做得很好，但他的傳球是我所見過最好的。”顯然，凱恩的話已經強烈暗示了曼城是他轉會考慮的首選目的地 ，而這也是列維不願看到的 。
