北京時間6月29日下午 ，官方曼城官方宣布與費爾南迪尼奧續約一年，曼城新合同有效期至2022年夏天 ，宣布续约新合巴西中場將迎來效力藍月軍團的南迪尼奥年第9個賽季 。
在公告中寫道：曼城隊長費爾南迪尼奧已經簽署了一份新的同至合同，截止到2022年夏天 。官方未來他將在伊蒂哈德球場開啟在曼城的曼城第9個賽季 。這位36歲的宣布续约新合球員合計為曼城出戰350場比賽 ，贏得12座冠軍獎杯 。南迪尼奥年自從去年夏天成為隊長開始 ，同至他就證明了自己的官方領導能力是無價的 ，並且期待新賽季的曼城到來 。費爾南迪尼奧依然堅定地專注於利用自己豐富的宣布续约新合經驗來幫助瓜迪奧拉的球隊。
而費爾南迪尼奧則表示：“在我心中 ，南迪尼奥年有些工作還沒有完成 ，同至所以這就是為什麽我決定再留下來一年，未來要努力幫助球隊和俱樂部實現正在尋找的目標 。在我看來 ，我們可以做到這一點，未來還有很多地方需要改進。能夠留在曼徹斯特一年，這是一件很愉快的事情 。”
費爾南迪尼奧在2013年從烏克蘭頓涅茨克礦工轉會加盟曼城，迄今為止合計幫助曼城獲得4次英超冠軍 、6次聯賽杯冠軍、1次足總杯冠軍和1次社區盾冠軍。
