但令人啼笑皆非的是 ，C羅律師團隊卻找了個冠冕堂皇的借口 ，他們聲稱這是為了保護證人們的隱私 。律師團隊指出C羅在國際上具有很大影響力 ，一旦證人證言被公開 ，那證人們的個人隱私就極有可能受到侵犯 。在各大媒體連篇累牘的報道之下 ，這極有可能影響到證人們的正常生活 。為了保護證人們的隱私 ，C羅律師團隊才要求不得公開證據 。
在2016年時 ，C羅就曾斥資1630萬歐元 ，收購了紐約川普大樓的一套豪宅 。這套豪宅麵積為2510平 ，共有9個房間 。但西班牙財經媒體Expansion如今卻指出，C羅在2021年底就拋售了這套豪宅，賣價僅為625萬歐元。C羅為何寧可虧損1000萬歐元也要賣掉這套房產 ？這很有可能與他在美國的性侵官司存在聯係。
