作為皇馬典禮中場裏幹髒活累活的後腰，卡塞米羅是米罗梅西马維係球隊攻守平衡的關鍵人物之一 。如今卡塞米羅接受了《Panenka》雜誌的史上專訪，他盛讚梅西是前欧史上前三的球員 。而在談到歐冠三連冠時 ，冠连冠皇卡塞米羅表示榮耀屬於皇馬 ，卡塞而非C羅 、米罗梅西马齊達內的史上個人功勞。
“梅西是前欧足球史上最優秀的三名球員之一 ，身為對手 ，冠连冠皇我們必須以團隊方式去防守他 ，卡塞一個人根本不可能防住他 。米罗梅西马在對陣巴黎的史上歐冠淘汰賽中 ，我們將會看到偉大的前欧比賽 。”卡塞米羅盛讚梅西 ，冠连冠皇“巴薩必須適應梅西離開的現實 ，就像皇馬在C羅離開之後那樣 。關鍵在於 ，這個進程必須要夠快 。我相信巴薩能適應 ，因為巴薩皇馬都是世界上最偉大的俱樂部，一直都擁有最出色的球員 。”
梅羅爭霸是足壇十幾年來的主旋律 ，卡塞米羅對此表態 ：“梅西和C羅改變了足球 。在他們之前 ，頂級射手一個賽季進20球或者25球 。而他們 ，把數據提升到了40球 、50球甚至60球 。這看似不可能 ，他們改變了足球運動。在皇馬 ，C羅的進球比他的出場數還多 ，這太瘋狂了 。這種球員離開皇馬之後，我們想他是很正常的事情 。”
卡塞米羅並不認為歐冠三連冠是任何人的個人功勞 ：“歐冠三連冠期間 ，皇馬屬於C羅還是齊達內 ？都不是 。那支皇馬 ，將以歐冠三連冠球隊的身份而被名記。在球隊中的每一個人 ，都非常重要。”
卡塞米羅談到典禮中場 ：“我們之間關係非常好，化學反應也自然而然地產生了 。在場外也是如此 ，我們是朋友 ，很享受合作的時光 。我們在場上隻需要一個手勢，就知道該怎麽合作 。我們在場上不怎麽說話 ，一個眼神就夠了 。每個人各司其職 ，團隊就會更強大 。這些年來 ，我們以一種特殊的方式被聯係在一起。我認為 ，我們這賽季在場上更團結 ，我們之間友誼非常深厚 。我喜歡為皇馬效力 ，我喜歡在場上幹髒活，以便來幫助球隊。”
