北京時間4月1日 ，據《鏡報》援引土耳其媒體報道 ，阿布阿布拉莫維奇在參加俄烏會談時並非如先前所報道的参加“中毒” ，而是和谈“受傷” 。
土耳其媒體聲稱 ，非中阿布在離開會談場地時 ，被催一枚催淚瓦斯彈在他身邊爆炸 ，泪瓦他並沒有中毒 ，斯弹而是真相炸伤因此而受傷了 。
此前 ，阿布《衛報》稱 ，参加在3月3日和4日 ，和谈烏克蘭和俄羅斯和談代表團有三名成員出現了中毒症狀 ，非中其中一人就是被催阿布 。這三人在3月3日回到住處後，泪瓦感覺眼睛刺痛 、皮膚發炎 。阿布甚至一度在幾小時內失去了視力 ，他不得不在土耳其接受治療。
這一事件此前被歸咎於一塊被感染的巧克力，有調查記者將其餘一種化學試劑聯係了起來 ，並提出了一種“下毒說”的陰謀論。
而土耳其新聞社與電視台則在當地時間本周四表示，阿布其實是在基輔舉行會談時，遭遇了催淚瓦斯彈爆炸 ，並受了傷。相關報道立即被西班牙等地的媒體廣泛引用 。
西班牙媒體稱 ：“根據土耳其媒體消息 ，阿布拉莫維奇沒有中毒 ，他是遭遇了催淚瓦斯彈的襲擊 。”該報道還詳述了這位俄羅斯億萬富翁是如何被飛機送往安卡拉的醫院接受治療的 。
“這位重要人物立刻被飛機送往安卡拉。關於他行程的一切都沒有公開 ，處於保密狀態 。土耳其新聞社還聲稱 ，目前並不能夠確定這一催淚瓦斯彈的爆炸是一起意外事故還是有人蓄意破壞談判造成的 。”
