每兩年舉辦一次世界杯的提議引起了諸多俱樂部極大的不滿 ，魯梅尼格對此提議也不認可，他說 ：“我不喜歡現在的發展形勢 ，我們急需一個合理的賽程，現在的賽程對球員們來說太飽和了。在歐足聯，我們有一個以前並不存在的國家聯賽。我們需要做的是把賽程分成幾個部分 ，我們需要質量更高的比賽 ，所以大家必須坐下來冷靜地討論 ，找到一個解決辦法 。”
談到在拜仁表現未能達到人們預期的薩內和續約不順的格雷茨卡時，魯梅尼格說道 ：“薩內有些自卑 ，但我認為他在拜仁過得很開心 ，他拿出了很好的表現 。格雷茨卡是拜仁重要的球員，我希望他能夠一直留隊。”
