據《鏡報》的蓝军凌晨两点報道 ，在當地時間周日的将帅淩晨2點 ，埃弗頓球迷在切爾西下榻的遭烟酒店外放起了煙花 ，據悉 ，花持燃放煙花的轰炸時間持續了長達一個半小時 。這樣的蓝军凌晨两点盤外招雖然老套 ，但毫無疑問是将帅有用的 ，切爾西將帥的遭烟睡眠被打擾到了 。
切爾西中場若日尼奧在賽前表示 ：“是花持的 ，那有些吵 ，我被噪音吵醒了。我們知道那可能會發生 ，我們知道可能會出現這種情況 ，然後隻是回去接著睡了，為了能為今天的比賽準備好 。”
然而事實是，雖然若日尼奧說得雲淡風輕 ，但比賽的結果卻是埃弗頓獲得了勝利，切爾西球員或多或少還是被這次盤外招幹擾到了 。
