《阿斯報》表示 ，战略战安战皇馬有5場比賽來鎖定西甲冠軍，放弃因此下周中的皇马歐冠半決賽次回合顯然更為重要 。在對陣曼城前，冲冠城喜安切洛蒂最重要的轮换就是保證主力球員的健康 ，因此在對陣西班牙人時大麵積輪換是必要的 。
不得不休戰的是阿拉巴 ，奧地利中衛的肌肉出現了問題 ，對陣曼城的首回合比賽隻踢了半場就被換下。《阿斯報》指出 ，阿拉巴不但無法出戰本輪聯賽 ，下周中的歐冠次回合也要打上問號 ，甚至直到比賽當天才能最終確定 。
此外 ，另外兩名中衛米利唐和納喬雙雙遭到停賽 ，安切洛蒂在中衛位置上隻能選擇巴列霍和客串的門迪搭檔 。當然 ，安切洛蒂還可以指望從青年隊中提拔小將拉法-馬林來救急 ，卡瓦哈爾也可以被列入選擇範圍。
還有一種可能是讓卡塞米羅回撤 ，巴西中場已經在周四回歸了皇馬訓練場 ，這對於首回合缺少了他的皇馬來說是一針強心劑 。《阿斯報》表示 ，安切洛蒂應該會讓卡塞米羅獲得一些出場時間，但不太可能首發 。而下周中的歐冠次回合 ，卡塞米羅大概率會首發打滿全場 。
兩名邊後衛也將是安切洛蒂輪換的重點 ，巴斯克斯和馬塞洛將獲得首發機會 。而在中場，安切洛蒂將排出卡馬文加 、巴爾韋德和塞巴略斯的組合 ，莫德裏奇 、克羅斯將得到輪休的機會。
至於鋒線，阿森西奧將出任右邊鋒 ，羅德裏戈出任左邊鋒 ，本澤馬則希望盡可能多地出場比賽來保持狀態 ，因此或許不會被輪換。貝爾也會被考慮在內 ，雖然不太可能讓他首發 ，但威爾士人會獲得一定的出場時間 。“熊馬組合”中的維尼修斯 ，將得到輪休的機會 。
