歐洲杯開賽在即 ，赫特荷蘭也是伤势本屆大賽的奪冠熱門球隊之一 。而在大賽開始前 ，未愈荷蘭隊收獲了一個壞消息。西媒席荷來自西班牙媒體《每日體育報》的将缺消息稱 ，德利赫特的兰队腹股溝傷勢沒有痊愈 ，他大概率會缺席荷蘭對戰烏克蘭的欧洲首場比賽 。
荷蘭隊陣容星光熠熠 ，杯首尤其是德利後防線 ，更是赫特擁有範迪克以及德利赫特這對黃金搭檔 ，球隊也是伤势奪冠的熱門球隊 。但是未愈範迪克因為受傷已經無緣歐洲杯的比賽 。而在歐洲杯開戰之前 ，西媒席荷德利赫特這位來自尤文的将缺球員也遭遇了傷病的困擾 。
此前 ，德利赫特因為腹股溝的傷勢退出了訓練 ，在過去的一周，德利赫特的腹股溝傷勢沒有任何的好轉，他也缺席了荷蘭對戰格魯吉亞的比賽（歐洲杯前荷蘭的最後一場熱身賽） 。
《每日體育報》稱 ，從目前的情況分析看，德利赫特難以在荷蘭隊的歐洲杯小組賽首戰烏克蘭的比賽中複出，這對於荷蘭隊是巨大的損失 。需要指出的是 ，由於範迪克和德利赫特都無法出戰與烏克蘭的比賽，荷蘭主帥德波爾將會重組球隊的中衛組合 。布林德與德弗賴將會成為首發的中衛 。
