北京時間6月4日下午 ，开门黑2022賽季中超聯賽首輪 ，徐新上海海港對陣武漢長江 。海港胡靖航被上半場 ，首秀武漢長江隊外援福布失單刀 ，遭遇直红錯過了為球隊取得領先的脚踹機會 。第44分鍾 ，罚下徐新前場爭搶右腳蹬到了胡靖航的开门黑背部 ，胡靖航的徐新球衣被蹬破 ，同時也痛苦倒地 ，海港胡靖航被主裁判第一時間出示了黃牌 ，首秀隨後主裁判又去場邊看視頻回放 ，遭遇直红並做出改判 ，脚踹將徐新紅牌罰下 ，罚下上海海港不得不少打一人 。开门黑半場戰罷，雙方0-0戰平 。
今年4月底 ，徐新離開山東泰山 ，加盟上海海港，本場比賽是他代表海港隊出戰的第一場正式比賽 。
