經過近6小時的武磊飛行，搭載著中國隊前鋒武磊的星夜卡塔爾QR146航班當地時間8月26日晚11點17分 ，北京時間27日淩晨4點17分由西班牙巴塞羅那安全飛抵卡塔爾首都多哈 ，抵达多哈到齐至此，国足參加卡塔爾世預賽亞洲區12強賽前2輪賽事的强赛全部32名中國隊球員全部到齊 ，主教練李鐵在首輪開賽前5天可以得心應手地磨合主力戰陣 。主力阵容
當地時間8月26日清晨 ，武磊中國隊代表團一行近80人乘包機抵達多哈 ，星夜並於當地時間26日上午7點左右進駐位於多哈市區的抵达多哈到齐萬豪酒店 。按照當地防疫規定，国足全隊首先要在駐地酒店接受核酸檢測 ，强赛全部隨後每名成員須在各自房間內接受不少於12小時的主力阵容醫學隔離觀察 ，中國隊也不得不放棄了當晚開練的武磊計劃 。球隊當天的星夜兩頓正餐也都是通過當地中方工作人員送來的盒飯來解決 。
北京時間26日深夜 ，抵达多哈到齐武磊通過個人社交平台發布了個人出發的視頻信息。據了解 ，武磊是乘坐西班牙當地時間26日下午4點20分起飛（實際起飛時間為4點33分）的卡塔爾航空公司QR146航班啟程離開巴塞羅那的。經過近6小時飛行 ，其航班於卡塔爾當地時間26日晚11點17分（北京時間27日淩晨4點17分）抵達多哈哈馬德國際機場。
雖然武磊一路獨行 ，但抵達多哈後 ，他仍按防疫規定被專人通過“氣泡式”閉環防疫手段直接送往國足駐地酒店。待抵達酒店時已經是當地時間27日淩晨 。
武磊如期歸隊，意味著國足在多哈進行首次合練前集齊了全部球員 ，特別是主力球員 。由於12強賽首輪球隊客戰澳大利亞隊的比賽將於當地時間9月2日晚進行 ，因此滿打滿算，中國隊賽前至多可以進行5次的室外訓練 。
雖然武磊即來即用 ，但此次西征，中國隊陣容出現了一定幅度的人員變化。比如受40強賽球隊主力唐淼重傷缺陣影響 ，球隊右後衛人選必將易人 。而從6月15日國足打完40強賽收官戰開始至今已經過去了2個多月時間 ，在全隊未進行任何高質量國際熱身賽的背景下 ，教練組仍需要通過安排內部熱身賽來調整國腳狀態 ，同時磨合主力陣容 。因此武磊的及時歸隊就顯得非常有必要 。從李鐵近期的表態及國足在上海集訓期間反映的情況看 ，球隊在12強賽期間仍將大概率主推442戰陣 。隻不過，教練組會根據實戰具體進程 ，隨機應變在戰術安排上做適度調整 。
而按照慣例，國足的訓練時間安排也會向比賽時間看齊 ，這意味著接下來幾天球隊無論能否在空調球場內訓練 ，他們的訓練都將安排在晚間 ，這也是在西亞氣候環境中 ，最理想的選擇 。
