賽前，有机九牛主帥李毅表示 ：“今年的足协中甲是比較完整的比賽 ，要踢滿34輪 。杯冠球隊也非常疲勞，军杯我們第三階段踢完 ，该都從大連去到梅州 ，单场再從梅州回到大連 。淘汰河南這幾年也非常出色 ，李毅包括他們的河南会争外援也回到了球隊 ，我們一直認為他們是有机有機會爭奪冠軍的 。既然我們來了，足协就要向中超老大哥學習 。杯冠”
李毅同時表示 ：“在我的军杯理解當中杯賽應該都是單場淘汰製 ，對於弱隊來說一場定勝負可能機會更大些 ，雙回合的比賽確實對於弱隊來說機會還是比較少 ，但並不是沒有機會 。”
