據意大利媒體透露 ，重返35歲的意甲约米喬文科隻與桑普簽約到了本賽季結束 。在談到這次轉會時 ，签短奇喬文科表示非常開心 ：“簽約桑普？是的 ，一切都已經完成了 ，我非常開心 。時隔多年之後回到意甲 ，我也因此而非常高興 。我要問候球迷們，我希望明天就能參加第一堂訓練課。”
喬文科出道於尤文青訓營 ，除了尤文之外 ，他在意甲還效力過恩波利 、帕爾馬等球隊 。2015年1月19日 ，喬文科加盟美職聯球隊多倫多FC ，他開始了自己長達7年的漂泊生涯 。喬文科在多倫多FC效力了4個賽季 ，然後又在沙特球隊阿爾希拉爾效力了將近三個賽季。自從去年8月開始 ，喬文科就沒有再踢過正式比賽 ，如今他重返意甲與桑普簽下短約 。
喬文科的目標 ，是幫助桑普完成保級任務 。意甲後3名球隊降級 ，桑普目前積23分排名倒數第五 ，隻比降級區高出了5分 。
