受疫情影響 ，变更參加12強賽的球场各會員協會在為本協會代表隊（國家隊）安排主場賽的過程中遇到了許多現實困難 。為此國際足聯 、安排亞足聯允許各協會按照“一場一報”的国足方式落實12強賽各隊主場安排事宜 ，同時允許各協會最晚在其代表隊下一輪主場比賽開賽前10天確認主場信息。或直按照既定計劃 ，留西沙特隊將在9月2日首輪比賽中坐鎮位於利雅得的亚备薩烏德國王大學體育場主場作賽 。這座球場又稱“摩爾索爾公園體育場” ，战沙主场是特队沙特聯賽阿爾納斯爾俱樂部的主賽場 。
據了解 ，沙特足協根據沙特隊主帥雷納德的需要，將9月2日沙特隊首個主場比賽安排在利雅得薩烏德國王大學體育場進行 。賽曆顯示 ，沙特隊將於10月7日 、12日連續在主場參加12強賽第3 、第4輪比賽 ，對手分別是日本隊 、中國隊 。
沙特足協計劃於10月6日在吉達召開協會第12次代表大會 ，因此沙特足協決定將這2場比賽安排在吉達舉辦 。位於吉達以北60公裏的阿卜杜拉國王體育城體育場作為一座現代化多功能體育場 ，將承接這2場比賽 。
據悉 ，該體育場於2014年5月1日正式啟用 ，整座體育場可以容納觀眾6萬餘人 ，是吉達最大的體育場 ，也是沙特阿拉伯第2大體育場 ，其規模僅次於利雅得法赫德國王國際體育場。
受疫情影響 ，中國隊在卡塔爾多哈參加完12強賽前2輪比賽後 ，可能仍將繼續留在西亞 ，並將於10月7日在位於阿聯酋沙迦的備選“主場”對陣越南隊 。隨後全隊再移師沙特 ，進行第4輪與沙特隊的比賽 。
