而鄭智此前接談到球隊目前的現狀時表示 ：“無論如何 ，我們有責任把聯賽完成 ，把中國足球扛在肩上 。也感謝球員 ，我在廣州效力了十年 ，無論是老板還是球迷都對我有很多幫助 ，大家對城市 、球隊都很有感情。我們自發歸隊訓練 ，在出現突發情況的時候 ，很多預備隊小孩也從外地趕回來，讓我們用好的麵貌迎接比賽。有些歸化球員，因為和俱樂部中止合同了 ，具體情況我也不是很了解 。國腳們昨天才從上海回來 ，他們要先見一見家人 。
大家看到了俱樂部的任命 ，不管什麽角色 ，我都有責任和球隊在一起 ，為了這個球隊 、城市，我們要把比賽踢完 。球隊現在還算正常 ，所有人訓練的程度參差不齊，有的回來早有的晚。我們還是努力按部就班準備比賽 。”
