韓國國青隊領隊已口頭致歉並上報韓國足協 ，但組委會要求涉事球員書麵道歉；組委會不歡迎侮辱賽事 、違反體育道德的球員和球隊參加熊貓杯 。5月30日淩晨 ，韓國隊在酒店公開道歉 。道歉視頻中 ，韓國隊全體球員首先鞠躬致歉 ，隨後樸規現念道歉書並鞠躬 。
韓國網民和媒體當時批評了樸規現的做法。樸規現所在的蔚山現代足球俱樂部雖然承認他腳踩獎杯的做法不妥 ，但也辯解稱樸規現生性活潑 ，人品並無問題，隻是有些調皮導致舉止過分。（卓奧友）
