曼聯連續三次傳中都沒有傳到C羅想要的位置上 ，球員們的傳中腳法受到批評 。而在這次進攻結束後 ，C羅也顯得很不滿意 ，他先是揮動雙手 ，之後又朝著拉什福德抱怨 。C羅還舉起食指比劃了一個“1”的手勢 ，似乎是在說“能傳1次準的嗎 ？”最後C羅還攤手聳肩 。
馬競是C羅最喜歡的對手之一 ，賽前數據統計顯示 ，C羅過去35次和馬競交鋒製造了30個進球（25球5助攻） 。但本場比賽踢滿全場的C羅隻有2次射門0射正 ，3次空中對抗全部失敗 。在批評C羅表現不夠好的同時 ，曼聯隊友們的傳球準確率也的確需要提高 。
