在兩家俱樂部中，巴萨據說皇馬更加希望獲得斯皮納佐拉的有意意加盟 。皇馬主帥安切洛蒂希望可以引進他的利带同胞 。而對於球隊來說 ，刀后馬塞洛已經34歲 ，卫遭万欧並且他的起步合同將在明年夏天到期。所以對皇馬而言 ，皇马斯皮納佐拉格外有吸引力 。
據報道 ，皇馬的馬約拉爾不會成為這筆交易中的一部分，後者上賽季曾租借效力於羅馬奧林匹克體育場 。《羅馬體育報》表示，羅馬方麵隻接受現金交易 ，並且價格不能低於4000萬歐元 ，才有可能完成這筆交易 。
