森保一首先對於球隊的变后表現給與肯定：“隊員們讓我們看到了他們在心態上的反彈，對於和中國隊的进世界杯比賽 ，他們改變了心態 ，日本都好好地做了準備 ，主帅知中战斗每個人都十分認真地對待了比賽，赛前整個球隊又一次用日本足球的国队風格踢完了整場比賽，我真的变后很高興球隊展現出如此的挑戰精神 ，為之戰鬥並贏得了勝利 。进世界杯”
本場比賽日本隊采用了5後衛陣型，日本森保一表示 ：“根據此前的主帅知中战斗分析 ，我預測對手還是赛前會擺出4後衛的陣型 ，但是賽前的各種信息表示中國隊可能會擺出5後衛 ，因此我決定隨機應變 。當對手和我們的預案對應起來了之後 ，我們就采取反製戰術 ，我覺得今天的比賽應對得非常靈活 。”
最後森保一表示 ：“為了進軍世界杯 ，我們將繼續戰鬥 ，今天獲得三分 ，我們進了一大步，球隊時刻準備著麵對下一場艱苦的戰鬥 ，每場比賽我們都會準備好 ，用最好的陣容一起戰鬥。我希望我們可以繼續前進 。”
