北京時間10月20日晚 ，泰山泰山隊全隊抵達大連，队兵点足5大外援全部隨隊 ，连大李霄備戰接下來的外援足協杯1/4決賽和半決賽 ，1/4決賽泰山隊將要麵對李霄鵬帶領的随队武漢隊 ，由於李霄鵬對泰山隊非常熟悉 ，郝伟泰山隊想要過關不會輕鬆 。泰山
1-0戰勝南通支雲 ，队兵点足3-0擊敗青島青春島 ，连大李霄泰山隊順利挺進足協杯8強 ，外援兩場比賽泰山隊都不在最佳狀態，随队不過還是郝伟順利贏下晉級 ，而且這兩場比賽都是泰山在主場作戰 ，省去了舟車勞頓之苦 ，队兵点足不過接下來的连大李霄1/4決賽和半決賽都將在大連進行 ，而且都是兩回合賽製 。
20日下午 ，泰山隊全隊從濟南出發前往大連 ，備戰接下來的比賽 ，出征隊伍中包括了5名外援 ，以及大部分本土球員，這也是現階段泰山隊的最強陣容 。
1/4決賽 ，泰山隊將迎戰李霄鵬帶領的武漢隊，這組對決看點十足 ，李霄鵬反戈老東家 ，方昊 、劉俊賢等也麵對舊主 ，郝偉與李霄鵬的鬥法也是一大看點 。李霄鵬曾在山東效力和執教多年，對泰山隊再熟悉不過 ，目前的大部分球員他都曾經帶過 。
從足協杯前兩輪比賽來看 ，武漢隊的狀態似乎要更好一些 ，首輪7-0狂勝丹東騰躍，次輪又4-0大勝青島隊，兩場比賽打入11球 ，而且沒有丟球 ，黃紫昌 、董學升 、方昊等攻擊手展現了非常出色的狀態 ，火力非常凶猛 。
不過武漢隊的外援並不齊整，此前的發布會上 ，李霄鵬曾表示 ，球隊的一名外援正在隔離，另一名外援雖然已經解除了隔離 ，但是20多天的隔離讓他們也需要兩到三輪的時間進行恢複 。接下來的1/4決賽 ，武漢隊很可能隻有一名外援 ，甚至是繼續全華班作戰 ，這對泰山隊是個利好。
按照賽程 ，足協杯1/4決賽首回合在10月23-25日進行 ，次回合在10月28-30日進行 ，半決賽首回合時間是11月4日 ，次回合是11月8日 。目前具體的開球時間還沒有最終確定 。
