北京時間3月28日 ，吴金申花主教練吳金貴在上海接受采訪時透露 ，贵申归队申花方麵正在努力運作 ，意运应该力爭讓隊長莫雷諾返回上海 ，作莫與全隊一起戰鬥 ，雷诺並最終在上海退役 。上海
吳金貴說 ，退役莫雷諾在申花效力十年，吴金不僅是贵申归队球隊戰術上的核心，更是意运应该精神上的領袖 ，是作莫申花隊的標誌 ，“這麽多年來莫雷諾為申花作出很大的雷诺貢獻 ，希望他能夠在上海在申花結束球員生涯 ，上海這對他的退役一種肯定 ，一份待遇。吴金吳曉暉董事長和周軍總經理一直在操心這件事 ，讓莫雷諾回申花 ，和大家一起戰鬥，大家也非常需要他，不僅技戰術上 ，精神上也是支柱……莫雷諾自己也非常願意 。他和俱樂部也保持著聯係。”
莫雷諾與申花的合同去年年底已經到期，上賽季因為球隊沒有進入爭冠組 ，莫雷諾也選擇提前離隊 ，返回哥倫比亞 ，隨後加盟哥倫比亞國民競技隊 。上周國民競技與上賽季秋季聯賽冠軍卡利體育的聯賽中 ，替補登場的西奧接隊友長傳瀟灑停球後 ，巧妙扣過對方後衛外腳背彈射破門。這也是他傷愈複出之後 ，打進的首粒進球 。在莫雷諾的帶領下 ，一度大比分落後的國民競技連扳三球，將最終結果改寫成3比3 。
目前申花隊已經在康橋基地封訓三周 ，暫時還沒有外援與球隊會合 ，此前有消息稱 ，申花有意用“全華班”陣容出戰新賽季 。（搜狐體育 裴力）
