此前 ，勒夫C罗乐多C羅在新聞發布會上移開讚助商的做挪可樂瓶 ，並告訴人們要多喝水 。比多不盯這樣的专人舉動迅速躥紅起來 ，博格巴 、勒夫C罗乐多洛卡特利等人紛紛效仿 。做挪對於這樣的比多不盯行為 ，勒夫也開玩笑地回應 ： “C羅能做的 ，肯定遠遠比移開可樂瓶子要多。他技術全麵 ，頭上腳下，左右開弓 ，能打進非凡進球 。但他不可能什麽都做，我們也不可能派專人盯他 ，我們要提防的是整支隊伍 。”
與此同時 ，勒夫還表示 ，比賽不是一個人的秀 ，葡萄牙除了C羅之外還有好多世界級球員 ，他們具備與C羅相同的殺傷力：“他們注重整體配合，對我們是很大威脅 。葡萄牙是很難阻擊的對手 ，很難在與他們競爭中獲得控球優勢 ，我們要盡量避免被對手在危險的空間抓住機會 。和法國隊比賽的經曆讓我們意識到 ，要拚得更加猛烈，更有攻擊性和效率。”
值得一提的是 ，葡萄牙在近年來與德國之間的戰績處於明顯的下風 。2014年世界杯小組賽、2012年歐洲杯小組賽 、2008年歐洲杯四分之一決賽 、2006年世界杯第三名爭奪戰 ，德國全部勝出 。 C羅個人大賽上4次遭遇德國隊 ，從未進球。對於這樣的曆史戰績 ，勒夫不以為然：“曆史戰績對我們現在能取得怎樣的成績沒什麽幫助 ，球隊裏沒人對這個感興趣 ，我們需要聚焦的是明天的90分鍾比賽 。”
