北京時間5月1日 ，西班牙媒體《馬卡報》刊出一條讓中國球迷震驚的武磊消息，這家媒體表示 ，回国回海本周末西班牙人隊與馬拉加隊的短期比賽大概率會成為武磊旅歐生涯的最後一戰。武磊非常渴望為國出力 ，强赛但是记者结果在目前的疫情防控條例下 ，繼續留在西班牙踢球會影響他踢亞洲區40強賽 ，武磊因此武磊非常有可能就此選擇回到上海海港踢中超 。回国回海

《足球報》記者李璿則表示 ：“4月26日 ，短期本報就曾頭版頭條報道武磊回國馳援國足，强赛事實上是麵臨去留的抉擇 。
文中寫道 ：對於武磊而言 ，去留就將是非常關鍵的選擇。即將過去的賽季 ，他的市場身價也從巔峰期的1000萬歐元下降到400萬歐元 ，新賽季開始前這個數字還有可能進一步下降 。去年武磊選擇與西班牙人續約 ，合同到2024年夏到期 ，但目前看來他要在莫雷諾治下重獲信任難度極大 。
