對此，罚犯范畴資深媒體人馬德興認為，规超揭幕戰鄭錚與海港徐新兩人的出技犯規其實已經超出技戰術本身範疇 ，而且都是曝徐在VAR介入之後 ，主裁判觀看了回放才出示的紅牌。
坦率地說 ，這兩張紅牌很不應該，尤其是身為國腳 ，在比賽中出現如此動作 ，有失水準 。但作為球員 ，尤其是兩名現役國腳 ，在比賽中出現這樣的舉動 ，而且還是在目前中國足球的大環境與大氛圍之下 ，隻能是給中國足球進一步招來更多的“戾氣”。
特別是 ，中超聯賽在目前形勢下能夠重啟 ，本身就殊為不易。作為國腳 ，不僅沒有起到更積極的引領作用 ，反而因為個人行為而讓整個中國足球進一步遭受外界的攻擊 ，值得深思 。以目前的情況來看 ，這兩張紅牌很有可能會讓中國足協紀律委員會做出追加處罰的決定 。
