根據中國足球協會於2020年12月14日發布的重庆重庆《關於各級職業聯賽實行俱樂部名稱非企業化變更的通知》文件精神 ，依照名稱非企業化變更的当代相關要求 ，我俱樂部經過慎重篩選 、官宣更名过相关部討論研究後向中國足球協會申報了中性名調整方案 ，两江現方案已通過相關部門審核 ，竞技即日起“重慶當代力帆足球俱樂部有限公司”正式更名為“重慶兩江競技足球俱樂部有限公司”。已通
兩江四岸 ，门审是重庆重庆重慶的特色；競技精神 ，是当代足球的魅力 ！
2021賽季 ，官宣更名过相关部重慶兩江競技全新起航 ！两江
征途漫漫 ，竞技唯有奮鬥 。已通作為目前西部唯一一支征戰中超聯賽足球俱樂部，门审重慶兩江競技會繼續保持巴渝風骨 ，重庆重庆凝聚山城力量 ，堅守重慶精神 。未來 ，俱樂部期待同社會各界一道 ，同所有熱愛者 、挑戰者 、夢想者一道，抓鐵有痕 、踏石留印 ，高擎區域足球發展大旗 ，捍衛西部足球希望火種，為中國足球進步貢獻重慶力量 。
