自從官宣將於下賽季執教羅馬的防线消息後 ，穆裏尼奧的意媒援名一舉一動更加引人關注 ，而他將如何改造紅狼更是穆帅马开人們最感興趣的話題之一 。根據《米蘭體育報》消息 ，向罗穆裏尼奧已經開出了一份引援名單 ，出引他希望在各個位置都進行補強 ，单重点升尤其是防线後防線。報道稱 ，意媒援名穆帥已經與羅馬俱樂部總經理蒂亞戈-平托就夏窗引援問題進行了多次討論 ，穆帅马开葡萄牙人認為 ，向罗球隊的後防線的升級改造已迫在眉睫。

除了門將位置 ，中後衛也是穆帥改造的重點 。羅馬現在的後防核心斯莫林早在曼聯時期就不受鳥叔重用 ，且這位英格蘭中衛被羅馬買斷之後的表現與之前判若兩人 ，葡萄牙教頭的到來意味著斯莫林將會再度失去主力位置。《米體》表示 ，熱刺的戴爾 、切爾西的祖馬和曼城的阿克都在穆裏尼奧的引援名單上 ，這三名在各種球隊失去主力位置的中衛中的一人有望成為穆氏羅馬的後防基石 。
《米體》還表示 ，穆裏尼奧還希望加強羅馬的中場 ，馬蒂奇（曼聯） 、霍伊別爾（熱刺）以及薩比策（萊比錫）是他的目標。這三人之中 ，合同將會在明夏到期的薩比策將成為羅馬引進的重點球員 。
