在上個賽季結束後 ，诺涨凱恩就公開表達了離隊的薪万願望 ，而曼城也對凱恩非常欣賞，凯恩幾乎整個夏窗都在為凱恩轉會一事進行談判 。但是最終由於熱刺高層索要超高轉會費 ，交易也沒有了下文 。昨日凱恩也正式宣布不會在本賽季離開熱刺 ：“上周日看到熱刺球迷們對我的歡迎，以及過去幾周收到的一些對我支持的短信 ，都讓我感到難以置信 。今夏我將留在熱刺 ，百分百專注於幫助球隊取得成功 。”
宣布留守熱刺是凱恩的無奈之舉 ，而在這背後 ，熱刺高層也做出了一些讓步 。來自英國媒體《太陽報》的消息稱 ，熱刺高層將會為凱恩加薪 ，回報他選擇留守 。目前凱恩與熱刺的合同在2024年結束 ，凱恩的周薪為23萬英鎊。
而熱刺的最新計劃是給凱恩提供一份周薪高達33萬英鎊的合同 ，凱恩的周薪上漲幅度接近50% 。當然 ，熱刺提供的加薪合同也有條件——凱恩必須與熱刺續約至2027年 。而到了2027年 ，凱恩已經年滿34歲，對於一名前鋒來說 ，這意味著職業生涯的尾聲。
