北京時間5月31日晚，叙利协敘利亞足協發布了一份官方聲明 ，亚足有利回應關於世預賽亞洲區40強賽改址一事 。同意在聲明中指出 ：在亞足聯在確定A組剩餘比賽在中國舉行時 ，改变国队就有一條 ：隨時可以取代中國作為主辦國的剩余赛程協議 。同時 ，调赛对中還指出在任何情況下都不同意改變本組的程恐剩餘賽程 ，尤其是叙利协做出可能對中國隊有利的賽程調整 。
敘利亞足協在其官方臉書上寫到 ：在短時間內 ，亚足有利我們收到了來自各方的同意批評 。而這些批評的改变国队動機是不同的，這也都是剩余赛程我們不會去討論的問題 。首先我們同意亞足聯和國際足聯以賽會製進行比賽 ，调赛对中因為我們剩下的程恐所有比賽都不是在主場進行，所以我們同意在任何國家進行比賽 。叙利协同時賽會製的比賽可以讓我們避免因前往多個國家比賽而造成的麻煩 。
隨後在羅列的幾條當中 ，指出 ：我們在任何情況下都不會同意調整A組剩餘比賽的賽程 ，特別是在改變賽程很可能對中國隊有利的情況下 。並且還指出，亞足聯曾經反複發布過關於中方設置入境障礙的文本 ，所以亞足聯有一條可以隨時取代中國作為主辦國的條款 。
同時 ，敘利亞足協還指出敘利亞足協主席阿爾加耶布 ，準備與亞足聯主席本-易卜拉欣進行深入接觸 ，以探討相關事宜；並指明上述動作都是在敘利亞奧委會不斷溝通和支持下進行的，並感謝敘利亞駐迪拜領事館為實現預期目標所做的巨大努力和支持 。（卓奧友）
