據《足球報》報道 ，广汽工作广州廣州城的组已作主股改推進有了積極進展 ，廣汽工作組已經進駐俱樂部展開工作，进驻加俱樂部方麵也有意讓範加斯特繼續執教 。城展
2月16日 ，开工廣州城隊在廣州大學城足球基地開啟了備戰2022賽季中超聯賽冬訓首訓，帅范荷蘭人範加斯特帶隊完成訓練 。望留俱樂部方麵對於範加斯特是广汽工作广州滿意的，也有意讓其繼續執教 。组已作主廣州城隊的进驻加股改正在進行當中，如無意外，城展待股改完成後 ，开工範加斯特將完成最後的帅范手續 。
從目前的望留情況來看，廣州城的广汽工作广州股改低調 ，但推進很穩健 。據了解 ，廣汽工作組已經進駐俱樂部展開工作 ，與俱樂部管理層進行了多次交流 ，熟悉和了解廣州城足球俱樂部的球隊構建、俱樂部構成、青訓體係及足球基地的情況 ，並且對俱樂部的情況進行仔細的調研 、了解 。
此外包括上賽季梅州客家衝超功臣桂宏在內的多名外租球員也已經回到了球隊，廣州城隊的未來也逐漸明朗。
