終於2022年世界羽聯巡回賽進入年終總決賽 ，已經進入到了第三個比賽日的爭奪，在混雙賽場黃鴨組合王懿律和黃東萍迎來了出線的關鍵戰 ，前兩場戰罷1勝1負的戰績 ，讓黃鴨組合必須拿下第三場比賽的勝利 ，才能夠將命運掌握在自己的手中 ，此役他們迎了老對手世界排名第一的泰國組合德差波和沙西麗，兩對組合過往一共有過了17次交手 ，王懿律和黃東萍以8勝9負處於下風，尤其是最近的四次對話更是遭遇到了四連敗，可見想要贏下本場比賽的難度非常大 ！在比賽開打之後 ，黃鴨組合首局狀態不錯，但是卻沒有把握住機會被對手逆轉 ，第二局更是早早陷入大比分落後的處境當中，最終0-2輸球 ，無緣淘汰賽 ！
非常熟悉的兩對組合 ，在比賽開打之後沒有任何的試探 ，直接就進入到了對攻大戰當中，黃東萍在網前侵略性極強的打法 ，一上來就壓製住了沙西麗 ，黃鴨組合也很快取得了8-2的領先 ，落後的世界第一隨後做出了調整，減少和黃鴨組合網前的爭奪 ，開始更多將球打到後場 ，傷愈複出不久的王懿律，表現不夠穩定 ，讓對手連續打追身得手 ，德差波和沙西麗很快就將比分追到了7-9 ，好在黃鴨組合沒有慌亂 ，還是扛住了對手的反撲 ，以11-8進入到了這一局的技術暫停時間 。
暫停結束之後，王懿律黃東萍也開始針對狀態不是非常好的沙西麗 ，連得2分之後 ，將領先優勢擴大到了13-8 ，德差波隨後站了出來 ，無論是後場雙腳起跳的劈殺 ，還是主動上網的截殺都威力巨大 ，在他的帶領下，泰國組合連得6分，以14-13反超了比分，好在黃鴨組合及時找回了狀態，咬住了比分和對手鏖戰至了18平 ，決勝時刻德差波連續失誤 ，黃東萍和王懿律連得2分 ，以20-18拿到了局點 ，不過頑強的世界第一還是再度追平比分 ，並且以23-21逆轉獲勝，取得了開門紅 。
首局長時間領先，卻慘遭對手逆轉，極大打擊了黃鴨組合的自信心 ，在第二局比賽開打之後 ，他們一上來就顯得氣勢不足 ，場上的移動和比賽的節奏總是比對手慢半拍 ，德差波和沙西麗也抓住機會，很快就取得了4-1的領先 ，落後的黃鴨組合越打越士氣低迷 ，尤其是王懿律個人失誤非常多 ，泰國組合也帶著11-3的巨大領先 ，進入到了暫停調整時間 。
比賽重新開打之後 ，王懿律黃東萍的狀態有所提升 ，一度將分差縮小到了4分，但是德差波沙西麗沒有給他們逆轉的機會 ，還是以21-13鎖定了勝局 。
在同小組的另外一場比賽當中 ，陳健銘和賴沛君擊敗了蘇帕克和蘇皮薩拉，將戰績提升到了2勝1負 ，他們也和德差波沙西麗攜手出線進入到了本屆比賽的混雙四強 ，黃鴨組合重新配對的首站比賽止步小組賽 ！
