賈秀全補充道 ：“出線形勢不同 ，目標對手不同 ，位置打法不同 ，對用人的要求也會不同 。我們是想給中生代球員更多機會 ，讓她們在奧運會上展示出中國女足精神 、形象、技戰術素養。較奧運會預選賽 ，這次球隊人員產生了一些重要變化，比如前鋒唐佳麗 ，老將馬君 、婁佳惠都落選了 ，而一些新麵孔進入到名單中。”
新華社記者看到了南京醫科大學第三附屬醫院6月26日對唐佳麗傷情的診斷記錄 ，上麵寫著“膝關節痛左膝滑膜炎 ，左膝內側副韌帶及髕韌帶損傷” ，建議“患肢休息為主 ，避免劇烈活動” 。談到唐佳麗落選 ，賈秀全表示 ：“唐佳麗因傷無緣奧運會很遺憾，但她的職業生涯還長，希望她能好好養傷 。”
而對於馬君、婁佳惠等老將的落選 ，賈秀全說這是教練組經過慎重考慮 、權衡利弊後，做出的痛苦決定 。“我衷心感謝每個階段，每名入選國家隊的隊員 ，她們都為中國女足做出了巨大貢獻 。中國女足的複興 ，女足精神 、女足文化和技戰術傳承，要靠幾代人努力 。”
