根據某家知名數據網站的統計 ，中超球員在2017年的平均年薪就已經達到了78萬英鎊左右 ，從某種程度上也說明了職業球員的薪水的確偏高 。中國足球優秀球員偏少 ，導致了轉會市場上身價被嚴重炒高 。不過對比世界足壇 ，再結合國內球員的能力和所取得的成績來看 ，這樣的高收入確實是為外界詬病的一個原因 。
“金元足球”的結束，意味著中國球員的薪水要回歸理性範疇 ，但如何解決之前和俱樂部簽訂的工作合同 ，恐怕還需要雙方共同協商才行 。
