According to 。 BBC 。, Nemo is a labrador-griffon mix and almost two-years-old. He comes from the SPA animal refuge in Hermeray and cost the president around $300.。

。Nemo is reportedly named after Captain Nemo, the commander of the fictional submarine Nautilus in。 Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, as Macron is a big fan of the book. A fitting name for a dog with such an important position. 。

The presidential pup has already been pretty busy since being welcomed into Macron's family. He stood by Macron's side when he met with Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou. 。
