北京時間4月22日，切费S切取消钱西班牙媒體《馬卡報》消息，林皇歐足聯主席切費林接受采訪時談到了皇馬與切爾西的尔西歐冠半決賽 ，他表示這場比賽大概率繼續進行 ，赔人取消的切费S切取消钱可能性很小，但未來會考慮嚴懲皇馬和切爾西 。林皇同時 ，尔西切費林還回擊皇馬主席弗洛倫蒂諾 ，赔人稱自己會在歐足聯主席的切费S切取消钱位置上繼續幹下去 。
過去幾天，林皇歐洲足壇發生了歐超聯賽的尔西鬧劇，西甲3強、赔人意甲3強和英超BIG6聯合宣布成立歐超聯賽 ，切费S切取消钱但不到72小時 ，林皇由於各方的尔西強烈反對 ，導致歐超聯賽計劃流產 ，到目前為止，僅剩皇馬 、巴薩 、米蘭和尤文那尚未宣布退出 。有消息稱 ，皇馬和切爾西參加了歐超聯賽計劃 ，可能會影響到下周到來的歐冠半決賽 。
對此 ，歐足聯主席切費林給予回應 ，稱皇馬和切爾西的歐冠半決賽 ，取消的可能性不大 ，“最關鍵的地方是本賽季已經開始 ，如果不舉辦半決賽的比賽 ，廣播公司會要求我們賠償相應的損失。所以 ，下周這場比賽取消的可能性是很小的 。但是 ，未來再出現這種情況 ，結果可能會有所不同 。”
對於皇馬主席弗洛倫蒂諾炮轟切費林不配當歐足聯主席的言論 ，切費林同樣給予回應 ：“嗯，這會讓我更加有動力留下來繼續當主席 。他希望歐足聯主席能夠聽從他的話 ，按照他的方式辦事。但是 ，我隻會做對歐洲乃至世界足球有利的事情 。”
