北京時間7月22日 ，荷兰據《荷蘭電訊報》的足协战世消息 ，荷蘭足協已經與69歲的范加老帥範加爾達成協議，雙方將簽訂一份為期一年半的尔达合同 ，範加爾將率領橙衣軍團出戰2022年卡塔爾世界杯 ，协议這也將是签约範加爾第三次入主橙衣軍團 。
範加爾曾在2000年-2011年和2012年-2014年期間兩度執教荷蘭隊 。年半第一次執教期間 ，率队範加爾帶隊出戰14場比賽 ，界杯但荷蘭隊最終無緣2002年世界杯正賽 ，荷兰範加爾最終引咎辭職 。足协战世第二次執教期間 ，范加範加爾帶隊出戰29場比賽 ，尔达在2014年巴西世界杯中率隊獲得季軍 。协议
據悉 ，签约範加爾的助教團隊包括丹尼-布林德、弗蘭斯-霍克和亨克-弗雷澤 。這其中弗雷澤是兼任荷蘭教練組角色，他如今仍是鹿特丹斯巴達隊的主帥 ，荷蘭足協希望其在2022年之後接任國家隊主帥一職 。
9月初，荷蘭隊將參加三場世預賽的比賽 ，分別是9月1日對陣挪威、9月4日對陣黑山 、以及9月7日對陣土耳其。目前荷蘭隊3輪過後2勝1負排名第二 ，落後榜首的土耳其1分 。
