2022年卡塔爾世預賽洲際附加賽抽簽儀式在國際足聯總部瑞士蘇黎世進行 。世预赛洲势獲得亞洲區附加賽資格的际附加赛球隊 ，將遭遇南美區第五名 。亚洲遇南有主獲得中北美及加勒比區附加賽資格的队遭球隊 ，將遇到獲得大洋洲附加賽資格的美拥球隊 。
根據2022年卡塔爾世界杯的场优參賽席位分配規則 ，有2個參賽席位將通過洲際附加賽來決出 。世预赛洲势而競爭這2個席位的际附加赛參賽球隊 ，分別來自於亞洲 、亚洲遇南有主南美洲 、队遭中北美及加勒比地區和大洋洲。美拥這次抽簽儀式 ，场优就是世预赛洲势決定哪兩個大洲通過洲際附加賽途徑來爭奪一個世界杯參賽資格 。抽簽結果顯示 ，际附加赛亞洲球隊遭遇南美洲球隊，亚洲遇南有主中北美及加勒比球隊遭遇大洋洲球隊 。需要指出的是 ，這兩場世界杯洲際附加賽的比賽模式是一場定勝負 ，其中亞洲球隊和中北美及加勒比球隊在抽簽儀式中率先被抽出 ，進而獲得了主場作戰優勢 。
對於中國球迷來說 ，自然關注的是亞洲球隊與南美球隊的較量 ，因為國足參加了世預賽亞洲區12強賽，但B組6輪戰罷 ，僅取得1勝2平3負的成績 ，積5分 ，排在積分榜第五位。國足想要獲得亞洲區的附加賽資格 ，首先要取得12強賽B組第三名 ，然後擊敗亞洲區A組第三名，才能夠獲得與南美球隊較量的機會 。而有機會獲得南美參加附加賽資格的球隊，包括烏拉圭等。顯而易見 ，國足進軍2022年卡塔爾世界杯的希望已經十分渺茫了 ，甚至連亞洲區附加賽資格都拿不到 。
根據賽程安排 ，2022年卡塔爾世界杯洲際附加賽將於明年6月13日或14日進行 。
