法葡大戰可以說是成功姆巴佩的偶像見麵會 ，他再次在球場上和自己的赛后偶像C羅交手 。姆巴佩曾在自己的姆巴房間裏貼滿了C羅的海報 ，還曾在年少時參觀過皇馬訓練基地，罗亲流并並與C羅有過合影 。切交球衣兩人在國家隊的互换首次碰麵發生在去年10月的歐國聯比賽中 。另外姆巴佩和C羅還在2018年的追星歐冠1/8決賽中碰麵 ，但姆巴佩兩回合沒能幫助巴黎聖日耳曼擊敗C羅領銜的成功皇馬晉級 。
歐國聯賽後 ，赛后姆巴佩第一時間發文致敬C羅 ，姆巴他在社交媒體上寫出“偶像”二字 ，罗亲流并文字後麵加上了國王和山羊(史上最佳球員)的切交球衣圖標 ，並且艾特了C羅。互换不過本場比賽 ，追星可是姆巴佩第一次在世界大賽和偶像現場碰麵 。不過場上這位年輕球星沒能貢獻出色的發揮 ，除了為球隊製造一個點球外（這個點球也引起了不小的爭議） ，姆巴佩整場比賽其實發揮平平 。反倒是他的偶像C羅成功主罰兩個點球 ，不僅登上了本屆歐洲杯射手榜的榜首，而且還追評了阿裏-代伊的國家隊進球紀錄 。
不過場下姆巴佩還是有不小的收獲 ，賽前大家就一致認為這位大巴黎前鋒可能會有一些“追星”行為 。不過上半場結束的時候，姆巴佩還是被無辜“躺槍”了 。C羅和自己的俱樂部老友本澤馬一路竊竊私語，並且在球員通道的時候更換了球衣 ，這時候球迷們紛紛在網絡上調侃姆巴佩 。不過全場比賽後 ，姆巴佩還是達成了心願。C羅不僅與他進行了親切交流 ，而且兩人還互換了球衣。也許這就是“追星”和夢想的完美結局，將自己活成偶像的樣子 ，活成自己最喜歡的樣子 ，然後和偶像同場競技 。
