Well, then. We didn't really have to wait that long.
After teasing us on Thursday morning with a cryptic post on Instagram, Kendrick Lamar has officially delivered to the delight of everyone already tired of listening to Drake's More Life on repeat.
The Compton rapper released a brand new single "The Heart Part 4" on Thursday night and it's now available to listen to right here.

As Geniusnotes, "The Heart Part 1" dropped on YouTube as a stand alone in April 2010, while "The Heart Part 2" appeared on Lamar's mixtape the same year. "The Heart Part 3 (Will You Let It Die?)" dropped on SoundCloud just a couple of days before 2012's good kid, m.A.A.d. city. So, you know, keep those Google alerts very much on.

In an interview with The New York Times, Lamar shared some details about the focus of the forthcoming album, saying “I think now, how wayward things have gone within the past few months, my focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they’re doing the groundwork,” he said.
“To Pimp a Butterflywas addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore.”
For now, "The Heart Part 4" is going some way to ease the internet's suspense.
