此前 ，不仅巴黎Emylon商學院教授Simon Chadwick表示 ，有意沙特PIF基金在完成收購紐卡之後 ，国米並不會就此停止收購新球隊 。还想Simon Chadwick認為 ，马赛他們希望建立類似曼城的西媒足球帝國 ，目的沙特收购收购是在全世界範圍內打造一個由同一所有權的俱樂部組成的集團 ，並將他們帶入頂尖水平 。财团而據《阿斯報》報道，不仅沙特財團還對馬賽以及巴西球隊克魯塞羅有意 。有意上賽季 ，国米沙特財團就想收購馬賽，还想不過當時的球隊大股東並不願意出售。除此之外，沙特財團對收購巴西球隊也很感興趣 ，克魯塞羅就是他們的目標之一 。
