北京時間9月8日 ，热刺英國《每日電訊》披露 ，双星时离英超豪門托特納姆熱刺俱樂部可能對洛賽爾索和羅梅羅進行罰款處罰 ，未按原因是根廷兩人未如期離開阿根廷國家隊 。
本次國家隊比賽日 ，队恐有關阿根廷國家隊的俱乐新聞一直是熱點 。幾天前 ，部处阿根廷與巴西國家隊的热刺世界杯南美區預選賽的強強對話因巴西防疫部門的突然介入而被“腰斬”。如今，双星时离又有兩名球員可能麵臨俱樂部的未按處罰 。根據《每日電訊報》的根廷消息 ，因位如期離開國家隊返回英國，队恐洛賽爾索和羅梅羅兩名熱刺球員可能麵臨俱樂部的俱乐罰款處罰。此前 ，部处因為英超拒絕放人 ，热刺所以在英超踢球的南美球員隻有少數回國參加世界杯預選賽，巴西隊有9名英超球員無法前往國家隊報到 。阿根廷國家隊本周一宣布 ，兩名效力於英超阿斯頓維拉俱樂部的隊員埃米利亞諾-馬丁內斯和布恩迪亞已動身返回歐洲 。維拉俱樂部聲明表示 ，授權馬丁內斯和布恩迪亞前往參加阿根廷隊比賽 ，條件是隻能踢三場預選賽中的兩場 。按照英國的防疫規定，維拉的兩名球員將接受強製隔離，錯過本周末與切爾西的比賽 。
《電訊報》表示 ，與維拉俱樂部不同的是 ，熱刺俱樂部並沒有與阿根廷足協預先達成協議 ，而是遵循英超決定 ，不允許阿根廷球員洛賽爾索 、羅梅羅和哥倫比亞中衛桑切斯前往紅色名單國家 ，但最終卻沒能阻止3人前往國家隊報到 。此前 ，不少英國媒體認為洛塞爾索和羅梅羅隻會踢2場比賽，但是兩人目前都沒有離開國家隊打算 ，他們希望出戰與玻利維亞的世預賽。在未得到許可的情況下繼續留在國家隊 ，熱刺俱樂部對此非常惱火，可能對洛賽爾索 、羅梅羅和同樣未按時返回英國的桑切斯進行罰款處罰 。按照隔離規定，如果留在阿根廷隊 ，羅梅羅和洛塞爾索不僅會錯過周末與水晶宮的比賽 ，還將錯過下周末與切爾西的比賽 。
《電訊報》還表示 ，熱刺俱樂部目前正努力聯係阿根廷足協和兩名球員 ，以確認兩人的回歸時間 ，預計洛賽爾索和羅梅羅將先到克羅地亞訓練 ，以避免直接回到英國後必須在酒店中隔離而無法參加訓練 。據悉 ，如果熱刺俱樂部最終對這兩名球員處以罰款，國際職業足球運動員聯合會願意為他們向俱樂部提起交涉。
