據《馬卡報》消息，莫德没克羅地亞球星莫德裏奇在接受采訪時表示 ，克罗當前的地亚克羅地亞已經不同於2018年俄羅斯世界杯的那支格子軍團 ，直言球隊的不复表現不夠理想 ，願意接受球迷的往昔批評。
在小組賽前兩場比賽中 ，现已克羅地亞0-1負於英格蘭，再错1-1戰平捷克 ，莫德没雖然仍保持著出線的克罗希望 ，但是地亚格子軍團已經明顯表現出了老邁 、掙紮的不复跡象 。對此 ，往昔莫德裏奇表示 ：“自從世界杯預選賽開始以來 ，现已我們的再错戰績就很不理想 ，我們已經不是莫德没像以前那樣去比賽了 。我還記得 ，我們在歐洲杯預選賽對陣斯洛伐克、匈牙利和威爾士的比賽中踢得很好 ，但現在我們不是我們想要的那支克羅地亞 。”
