北京時間7月8日 ，西班续约线據西班牙《阿斯報》報道 ，恩里西班牙國家隊主帥恩裏克很可能會得到足協送來的克至一份續約合同 ，隻要他能率隊獲得2022卡塔爾世界杯的年只正賽資格。
在本屆歐洲杯中 ，世预赛出西班牙雖然在小組賽前兩輪不勝 ，西班续约线但最後一輪5-0大勝斯洛伐克出線 。恩里在淘汰賽中 ，克至西班牙連續曆經加時和點球 ，年只先後淘汰了克羅地亞和瑞士 ，世预赛出但在半決賽中點球不敵意大利，西班续约线無緣決賽。恩里雖然止步四強 ，克至但對於這支新老交替的年只西班牙來說 ，恩裏克的世预赛出帶隊成績已經足夠出色 ，而一份新的合同顯然是對恩裏克最好的褒獎 。
據悉 ，隻要恩裏克能率隊自2022卡塔爾世界杯預選賽中出線 ，西班牙足協就會送上一份新的合同 ，這會讓恩裏克至少帶隊至2024年德國歐洲杯結束 。而現在 ，恩裏克與西班牙足協的合同簽到了2022年底 ，即卡塔爾世界杯結束。
目前 ，西班牙在2022世界杯歐洲區預選賽中已經戰罷三輪 ，成績為2勝1平 ，領先少賽一輪積6分的瑞典1分，排名榜首 。
