巴西媒體在文章當中表示 ，前解在熱爾鬆（Gerson）加盟馬賽之後 ，约盼弗拉門戈在尋找他的降薪接替者 ，現年33歲的回归雷納托-奧古斯托就是其中的一個選擇 。他很清楚自己可以作為熱爾鬆的弗拉替身 ，因此向身邊人士透露 ，门戈自己嚐試想回到弗拉門戈 ，曝奥盡管他的托尝薪水很高，但是试国如果可以成功回歸 ，他願意接受降薪 。安提
奧古斯托2016年加盟北京國安 ，前解迄今為止代表國安出戰144場 ，貢獻了38粒進球 ，他與國安的合同將會在2021年12月到期 ，為了與弗拉門戈展開談判 ，奧古斯托將嚐試與國安解約。奧古斯托曾經於2005-2008年在弗拉門戈效力 。該媒體同時表示 ，曼城後腰費爾南迪尼奧也是弗拉門戈的一個選擇，但是可能性不大 。
