4月20日晚，隨著一架自動駕駛飛行器將象征著中超至高榮譽的广州规蹈冠軍獎杯——火神杯“空降”入廣州天河體育中心體育場 ，2021賽季中超聯賽以一種特有的队开待“炫酷”方式拉開帷幕 。揭幕戰“廣州德比”在現場近3萬名觀眾的示竞所期矚目下激情開場，回到“主場”的球迷廣州隊雖然由入籍國腳阿蘭打入聯賽新季首球 ，但仍被同城對手廣州城隊以2比2逼平 。京媒局预矩恰如此開局似乎也預示著這個賽季中超的广州规蹈競爭不會循規蹈矩，而這恰恰是队开待中國職業足球與球迷所期待的 。
經過各方精心籌備 ，示竞所期2021賽季中超聯賽於4月20日晚在廣州拉開序幕。球迷率先進行的京媒局预矩恰開幕式以“追尋足球的快樂”為主題 ，宣告著新賽季中超聯賽依然以傳遞正能量為己任 。广州规蹈在一係列極具足球及文化元素的队开待節目單元過後 ，一架載人級自動駕駛飛行器載著象征著中超至高榮耀的示竞所期冠軍獎杯——火神杯“空降”到天河體育場內 。機上的球迷一位美女將火神杯送到聯賽讚助商代表手中 ，隨後又通過名宿容誌行放置在場地之中 。如此炫酷的表演，不僅遮去了衛冕冠軍江蘇隊退出的陰影 ，同時也以某種新意為即將開賽的新賽季中超聯賽作出了積極啟示 。
開幕大典的壓軸戲無疑是廣州隊與廣州城隊間的羊城德比揭幕戰 。最終雙方經過激烈的比拚2比2握手言和 。
