亞足聯在官網的本城布里公告顯示 ，亞足聯收到澳大利亞足協的斯班狮吼確認消息 ，澳超球隊悉尼FC 、退出墨爾本城以及布裏斯班獅吼分別退出2021賽季亞冠聯賽小組賽以及附加賽 。亚冠
三支澳超球隊 ，官方悉尼FC被分到H組 ，澳超同組對手有全北現代 、球队大阪鋼巴以及淡濱尼流浪者 ，悉尼而另外兩隻澳超球隊墨爾本城以及布裏斯班獅吼 ，本城布里則需要參加附加賽 ，斯班狮吼墨爾本城的退出對手為大阪櫻花 ，布裏斯班獅吼的對手為菲律賓球隊伊洛伊洛，兩隊的勝者將與上海海港爭奪一張正賽門票 。
