北京時間5月8日20：00 ，范加2021年中超聯賽第四輪賽事，斯特守多廣州城隊在廣州越秀山體育場2-4不敵深圳隊 。球队本場比賽廣州城隊開局即陷入被動 ，慢半第7分鍾和第11分鍾 ，拍防已經連丟兩球。问题下半場開場後又被打入一球 ，需解比分已經擴大到0-4。范加雖然 ，斯特守多第71分鍾和86分鍾由外援蒂亞戈和卡爾多納扳回兩球 ，球队但是慢半，無法改變主場失利的拍防命運。
賽後新聞發布會 ，问题廣州城隊主教練範加斯特在談到本場比賽時說：“這場比賽整個球隊像慢了半拍一樣，需解整個反應都是范加比較慢 ，特別是一開場很早就丟球了 。我們也曾經一度落後0-4 ，這會讓人感覺到很失望 。”
今天的球隊跟前麵比賽完全判若兩隊，為什麽會這樣 ？範加斯特解釋道 ：“確實，我知道對手對我們球隊有分析 。但是 ，這場比賽讓對手進了很多很輕鬆的進球，我們防守方麵確實也是出現了一些問題。除了這場比賽，我對球隊前三場的比賽是非常驕傲的 。這場比賽輸了就輸了 ，我們隻能回去好好的去總結 ，去分析。然後 ，繼續前進 。”
球隊本賽季的失球 ，基本上都是頭球，這是否說明球隊在防空方麵的訓練不夠 ？範加斯特表示，確實是 ，我們球隊防邊路傳中 ，這方麵 ，還需要去加強。特別是不能讓對手輕鬆的給出好球。（文信）
