也正是因為如此 ，參加了本期國家隊集訓名單的姆巴佩在周二拒絕出席了法國國家隊的商業活動 。《馬卡報》稱 ，法國足協主席打電話給了姆巴佩 ，希望他參加讚助商的活動 ，但是姆巴佩並沒有改變決定 。
姆巴佩的態度也引發了一些連鎖效應 ，一些法國球員對這種情況提出了質疑 ，他們也想知道足協這些代言合同的有效性 。法國媒體《巴黎人報》也對此進行了報道 ，這家媒體稱 ，法國足協暫不考慮製裁姆巴佩 ，但正考慮如何處理此事 。
需要指出的是 ，關於肖像權的問題，也是其加盟皇馬遇到了關鍵議題 。按照皇馬一般的操作 ，他們都要求球員交出50%的肖像權。
