本賽季瓦倫西亞的第次戰績不佳 ，聯賽34輪8勝12平14負，接手排名第14位 ，球队距離降級區隻有6分之遙 ，瓦伦盡管沒有太大的西亚宣布下课保級壓力 ，但很難談得上令人滿意 。官方瓦倫最後四輪的主帅對手分別是巴拉多利德 、塞維利亞 、御用埃瓦爾和韋斯卡——除塞維利亞仍有奪冠希望外 ，备胎另外三個對手排名聯賽第17、18和20位。
沃羅球員時代曾效力瓦倫多年 ，退役後在俱樂部內工作，曾在08年 、12年 、15年 、16年 、17年和20年先後6次出任瓦倫的臨時主帥 ，是俱樂部的“禦用”備胎 。
