距離新賽季中超聯賽開賽時間已經不到三周 ，足协中超考慮到各隊的放弃備戰情況，中國足協已經最終決定 ，外援不再沿用上賽季推行的均衡“外援均衡保護條款”。
上賽季中超聯賽啟動的保护時候 ，由於大量外援都未能歸隊 ，条款中國足協為兼顧規則嚴肅性與競賽公平性，各队決定在中超聯賽推行“外援均衡保護條款”。需日條款內容規定 ，前完如果參賽的成引甲方球隊單場比賽期間沒有報名外援 ，那麽乙方球隊至多登場兩名外援 ，足协中超以此類推。放弃
中超各俱樂部在經曆了上賽季的外援特殊情況之後 ，對於應對此類問題已經有了充足的均衡經驗，早早就讓外援們歸隊 。保护目前，雖然有超過20名外援滯留在海外 ，但更多集中在巴西 。中超聯賽16支隊伍中，目前已經有5支隊伍外援全部到齊 ，體現了各隊準備工作相當到位 。
在這種情況下 ，從維護規則嚴肅性、延續性等角度出發 ，中國足協和職業聯盟籌備組經過和中超各俱樂部溝通後最終決定，不再沿用類似上賽季的“外援均衡保護條款” 。中超各隊如果碰到外援無法歸隊的情況，也隻能自己想辦法解決了 。
目前 ，中超聯賽國際轉會窗口已經關閉 ，不過各隊還可以簽約之前注冊在中國足協的外援 。不過中超聯賽國內轉會窗口將在4月12日正式關閉 ，留給各隊引援的時間 ，真的不多了 。
